October Recap
I’m keeping this month’s update brief since it’s already halfway through November as I write this! There’s never enough time to keep up with my to-do list it seems … !
October started out rough with Cash getting Hand Foot Mouth when it was going around at daycare. His symptoms were thankfully mild (no mouth sores or fever) so if you were as afraid of this disease as me, it's not always a horrific experience—but not pretty. He also got his first stomach bug shortly after getting over HFM. 😵💫
Highlights of the month included a rare date night for Chris and me when daycare hosted a Parents Night Out, a mommy and me outing with Cash on a random Monday when daycare was closed (I need to make a point to do this more often), multiple trips to a fall orchard with both friends and family (Cash liked feeding apples to the animals), and HALLOWEEN!
We hosted a few neighbors at our house for drinks and snacks before trick-or-treating, which was so fun for me. I set up a festive spread with lots of pumpkin-flavored treats from Trader Joe’s, like pumpkin tortilla chips and pepita salsa and pumpkin cookies. At 18 months, it was Cash’s first time trick-or-treating and I was in full mom mode recording every step of the way. (Watch HERE!) It was so sweet watching him go house to house with his buddies and get the hang of the whole thing.
Some personal wins this month included finally getting back to reading before bed (I grabbed this Creator-recommended reading lamp because Chris is usually asleep before me), and knocking out two projects that were lingering on my to-do list for months: creating Cash’s first-year photo album + a movie of all my video clips and favorite photos from the year—something I hope to do annually. After creating the movie masterpiece (lol), I deleted a majority of the media files from my phone to clear space. Feels good to have those housekeeping things done!
Now I’m looking forward to getting into the holiday season!!
