Meet The Pramanns!
I’m back!!! I took a blogging break over the last six months as we prepped for our June 1 wedding. It was too much to try to write our ceremony and figure out flowers (it seemed like every night there was something) while also creating and maintaining an engaging editorial calendar.
But we’re officially married (YAY!), our thank-you notes are written (YAY!) and now the only (still daunting) task ahead is changing my name. With the big day behind us I’ve been getting the itch to start posting again. And sharing our favorite wedding photos feels like a good place to start.
So, ta-da! Big thank you to Michelle Tanner photography for these shots. She was a total pro—efficient, good at keeping us on schedule and captured our personalities (i.e. letting Chris keep his sunglasses on for some of the photos). I’ll share more in future posts about the wedding (my wedding day makeup, tips for the MOH and more), but today is just about the pictures! I’ve already framed one of these, have a few picked out for a mini gallery wall (I love the street ones!) and will probably eventually create an album of all of our favorites using Artifact Uprising or something similar. I also may have already picked out our holiday cards! 😇 Eeee!
I’m kind of in denial that this all happened and that we have a WEDDING PORTRAIT framed in our living room. The day went by so fast and I did have a little bit of sadness when it was all over—mostly that everyone was gone the next day! Looking back, everything went pretty smoothly. The only snafus were some confusion with the caterer (I thought everyone got their own pizza, he thought everyone was just grabbing a few slices), regretting not doing a receiving line (we talked to almost everyone during cocktail hour, but missed a few!) and forgetting to have my hair stylist put my veil in (looking at pictures I wish my veil had been over, not under, my ponytail—and it was a bit of a scramble to get it secured at all).
Also nobody told me ahead of time that I would have to take my shoes off for our first look on the rooftop because of a no heels policy. It was a hot day and my strappy sandals were a struggle to get on in the first place, so I knew that taking them off and trying to get them back ON was not going to be easy (hi, swelling feet). But the venue coordinator would not budge and I ended up having to wear my photographer’s sneakers for our little rooftop moment (thank you, Michelle!). 🙄 The rooftop was so hot that going barefoot wasn’t an option either. Luckily you can’t see the sneakers in the photos, but it wasn’t an ideal look for the first look.
But these small snafus didn’t make much of a difference in the end. We think everyone had a great time and loved that our ceremony was personalized (we wrote our own vows, each table was named for a concert we attended together and we served our favorite food—pizza!). Life doesn’t feel much different than before we were married, but I can confidently say it feels good.
