Biker Babe
Happy Friday! This week was a BLUR. In addition to the normal workweek stuff, I’ve been busy exploring new logo designs for my site (coming soon!), and I got together with girlfriends for wine and apps last night. It’s always a late night when we get together and I’m running on five hours of sleep today, but YOLO!
In an effort to start the weekend on a high note, sharing three good things that happened to me today:
1. I grabbed lunch at Qdoba near my office and the man in front of me in line paid for my burrito bowl! I was feeling pretty bummed about something all morning, and that little gesture honestly felt like a sign from the universe that everything is going to be OK. Just a little nudge of assurance.
2. As I mentioned above I was struggling at work and feeling fuzzy after my late night, and I had to make some late-breaking revisions on some marketing collateral this afternoon. I was a bit anxious about getting it done, but laughing with one of my coworkers about the situation so hard that I started crying was a bright spot in the stress and frenzy. It feels so good to laugh like that!
3. Over my lunch break I ran to pick up a couple of new accessories for the fireplace mantel in our porch! Any new Crate & Barrel purchase always puts a smile on my face. 😜 I’m quite the regular at curbside pickup lol. Will share details soon!
Hope that your weekend starts on a high! Today’s look is perfect for rolling into weekend mode—and exactly what I’ll be changing into when I get home from work (planning on couch time and women’s gymnastics). We made it!
Jacket | Tee (Clare V) | | Bike Shorts | Sneakers
Have you gotten into bike shorts yet? As someone with * not small * thighs, I would have been horrified by the thought of wearing bike shorts five years ago. But at 33, I care more about how I feel in these than I how look. And honestly, when it’s hot out, these babies are what I reach for first. Stretchy comfort and no chafing. Think of them as the summer version of leggings! This pair is GREAT—they’re high-waisted and fit just right, without squeezing too much and creating that sausage-leg effect. I mostly wear mine when hanging around the house/drinking wine on the deck, but I’m comfortable running errands in them with a longer tee and/or oversized jacket! And they’ll be perfect with a big comfy sweatshirt in early fall. I dare you to grab a pair… 😉
