My Maternity Capsule

My Maternity Capsule

Here we are at 35 weeks! 🤰

Looking back, the time has gone fast, but at the same time, seeing a positive pregnancy test in July feels like a looong time ago. Now that I’m nearing the end of pregnancy, I wanted to share some of the key pieces I’ve been loving for the last few months. Working from home has helped a ton in that I can get away with wearing leggings and sweatshirts every day—and don’t need quite as much variety. Between baby gear, clothes to fit the bump, and postpartum supplies, it’s an expensive time, so I kept my capsule pretty tight and invested in pieces that can be worn post-baby, too. Check it out below and let me know in the comments if you have any maternity must-haves!

My everyday uniform:
Seamless bras (underwear linked below!): Skims Triangle Bralette | Skims Scoop Bralette | Hatch Everyday Bra (nursing-friendly)
Cozy sweatshirts: Spanx Half-Zip Pullover | Nike Crew Sweatshirt | Anine Bing Graphic Sweatshirt
Beyond Yoga leggings: Love the Bump Leggings (Charcoal) | Love the Bump Joggers | Love the Bump Leggings* (Fern)
*The best thing I bought for pregnancy! I tried some cheaper maternity leggings at first, and they just weren’t comfortable. These are more expensive, but 100% WORTH IT for something I wore every day. I originally bought these for working out, but they’re comfortable enough tor hanging around the house too. I’ll be buying this brand instead of Athleta and Lululemon from now on—I’m obsessed. Plus, all 3 of these styles have a maternity panel that can be folded down for wear post-baby.

I also wore:
Everyday top layers:
Beyond Yoga Long Sleeve Crew (x2) + Pullover (non-maternity works great with the maternity leggings above)
Cashmere sweaters: Everlane Turtleneck and Crew Sweater (non-maternity but sized up for bump)
Leggings for going out: Spanx Mama Faux Leather Leggings (panel rolls down so you can wear post-baby)
Maternity underwear*: Gap high-rise briefs and stretch bikinis (enough to get through the week) *Worth the investment! My regular underwear rolled up in the most annoying way once I had a bump.

My top tips for building a maternity capsule:
1. Create a uniform. Whether it’s sweatshirts and leggings or t-shirts and biker shorts, determine what you’re most comfortable in every day and repeat. I never even attempted maternity jeans.
2. Invest in comfort. Spending more on the things you’ll wear repeatedly is worth it.
3. Less maternity is more. Buy the essentials you’ll need for the bump (like leggings and undies), but look for styles you can wear postpartum, too. Pair the maternity stuff with oversized pieces you already own as much as possible.
