Winter Staycation

Happy Presidents’ Day (aka .. happy long weekend)! 😜

We kicked it off with a staycation at a nice hotel downtown Minneapolis. We booked the room back in the fall when we were getting insulation blown in upstairs because you’re supposed to be out of the house for 24 hours. But the workers said we were fine to stay and I had an interview early the next day, so we pushed the reservation out a couple months. At the time, I figured it would be something fun to do in the middle of winter when we had nothing going on—and it was! It was fun to have a reason to get out of sweats, put on mascara, sip a dirty martini in a dark bar, try a new restaurant, and have some conversation that went beyond recapping our work days. Although .. we both thought the room was overpriced and our bed at home was more comfortable! Ha. I wore a VERRRRY spring-forward top because maybe if I start dressing for warmer weather, it will be here sooner? Please? The weekend bag Chris got me for Christmas was the perfect size for one night (kind of obsessing over the chevron style!), and I broke in the waterproof Chelsea boots you all recommended via IG stories (I’ve been wearing my Uggs everywhere but figured they weren’t appropriate for a real date night lol).
