My Holiday Wish List
While “Black Friday” is no longer just one day, I’m still a big fan of kicking off holiday shopping over Thanksgiving weekend. This year is no different—and I actually have more time for online browsing since we’re staying home for the holiday! Here are a few items on my Christmas list to inspire your own shopping! I’m excited to (finally) put up our tree and stockings later today, make some Chex mix and maybe address our holiday cards if I’m feeling ambitious. Have a cozy weekend!
Ugg Slippers: Because of the rugged sole, these are perfect for slipping on/off when getting the mail or taking out the trash, especially in the winter (instead of sandals or struggling with boots). I’ve had other Ugg slippers and they last years—worth the investment!
Pendleton Throw: I LOVE this classic Glacier National Park pattern. I want to drape one over our couch (almost as decor) and have one resting on the bench in our bedroom. With everyone spending more time at home this year, it’s a gift anyone would appreciate. I saw a woman on HGTV the other day who collects blankets—love that idea!
Yeti lowballs: This size is perfect for wine or cocktails (or coffee, ha!) at the lake or around the bonfire. I’ve been collecting the stainless steel, but am obsessed with the new sagebrush green collection!
Winc wine subscription: I’m a boxed wine girl (so economical). But there’s something special and elevated about opening a bottle—it’s such a treat on a Friday night for me. I like trying different varieties from Trader Joe's, but it would be so convenient and fun to get a delivery (tailored to my preferences!) each month.
Puff Sleeve Sweatshirt: Clare V. is my fave; I could live in her sweatshirts. This puff-sleeve tie-dye one is so cute (you can dress it up or down)—and short-sleeve sweatshirts are going to be big for spring!
“I’ve Been Thinking” by Maria Shriver: A collection of reflections, prayers and meditations—something to keep on the nightstand. An inspirational gift for anyone after the hard year this was! I’ve been wanting something like this, to inspire reflection, but not something overly religious. This seems like a good place to start. Add a journal to complete the gift. I’m not a daily journal-er, but love the idea of recording thoughts during big life moments. Plus, it’s therapy! There’s also so much power in keeping a gratitude journal or manifesting your goals by writing them down. Here’s another option, from Cheryl Strayed.
Avocado Huggie: Genius! A must-have tool for the avocado lover. I eat avocados on salads or sandwiches almost every day and am always trying to keep halves from going brown or throwing them when they do. Would love to try this!
Cashmere Scarf: Cashmere is always a good gift—it’s something everyone enjoys, but not something everyone treats themselves to throughout the year—and this scarf is the perfect way to complete her cozy-at-home look. Even though Chris thinks it’s weird, I wear scarves in the house all the time. Add matching socks to elevate the experience.
Pajamas: Duh! New pajamas for Christmas is a must, and J.Crew makes washable sets and separates I love (shop all here). There’s nothing like slipping on a brand-new pair on Christmas Eve. This top + joggers would be a great everyday set.
Workout Top + Tights: With gyms closed due to Covid, I’ll be heading down to the bike in our basement all winter. A new set = motivation for those dark mornings. A long-sleeve tee and hoodie to stay warm before working up a sweat would be nice, too!
Stud Earrings: I wear classic studs every day and my current pair is getting … worn (slash green). I would eventually love real diamond studs (Zoe Chicco is my fave and where I bought my wedding jewelry), but until then cubic zirconia for under $50 will do!
New Perfume: I love collecting fragrance! I’m a Jo Malone fan, and during quarantine, I’m actually going through a decent amount of my collection. Spritzing myself with some fragrance each day lifts my mood—even if I’m just sitting in sweats at home. This travel set would also make a great gift (and be a good way to find your favorite scent).
The Container Store Storage Solutions: After watching The Home Edit on Netflix, I’ve been fantasizing about whipping our kitchen into organized bliss. The pantry is our biggest area of concern, and a couple lazy susans, stacking bins and clear canisters would be a good starting place for corralling snacks, cereal, canned goods and condiments. Shop all kitchen/pantry options here (so much goodness!).
Olive Oil Gift Set: I want to start a collection of different oils and fancy spices to elevate weeknight meals. This gift set is a great start in expanding beyond EVOO all day, every day. Also love this one and this one for more of a statement!
A few more ideas …
Because so many of us are working from home, a new pencil cup or desk accessories to brighten their space!
Hand sanitizer that’s a step up from whatever they find at the drugstore—the perfect 2020 stocking stuffer (plus refill!).
Framebridge gift card—I’m sure everyone has one or two framing projects in the queue! This is the company I use for all my framing. It’s easy, and they have personalization options and gallery wall kits! It makes me want to frame EVERYTHING.
Anyone who likes to cook (or is learning, because … 2020) would enjoy a new piece for their Le Creuset collection. The first item on my list is a dutch oven. I can’t decide what color, but am loving nectar, and meringue is pretty, too.
Elixir bottle and decanter for the home bar. I’m also kind of obsessed with these candy dishes.
A legit first aid kit for the car or home. Kind of random, but a must-have! If 2020 has shown anything, it’s that you don’t know what’s around the corner …
